Privacy
The app collects nothing. The website only collects what you leave there yourself.
The app
De Coureur asks for no account and does not know who you are. No registration, no login, no profile on a server. In App Store Connect the app is therefore listed as Data Not Collected.
What does happen on your device, and where it stays:
- Your results and your nickname live in the app's storage on your own device. The nickname you enter at first launch never leaves your device — not even to iCloud.
- Your statistics and your streak travel to your other Apple devices through iCloud, if you use iCloud. That runs entirely through Apple with your own Apple account; we have no access to it and cannot see that it happens.
- Notifications are scheduled on the device itself. No push service is involved, so there is no device token registered anywhere.
- There is no analytics software in the app and no advertising. No trackers, no third-party SDK looking over your shoulder.
The only time the app goes online
At most once a day the app checks whether a newer rider database is available on this website. That is an ordinary request for a file: no identification, no device id and no game data travel with it. What the server records is described under The website. If the request fails, nothing happens and you never notice — the app works fully offline.
If you take out a subscription
Payments go through Apple. We receive no name, no address and no payment details from Apple; only whether a valid subscription exists, and the app reads that directly from Apple. For what Apple itself processes, Apple's privacy policy applies.
The website
This site uses no cookies for visitor measurement and carries no analytics script anywhere. What remains is what any web server records in order to work: your IP address, the address requested, the time and the browser type. Those logs serve to investigate faults and abuse, and are not used to track or profile visitors.
The newsletter
The sign-up page is the one place on this site that loads something from elsewhere. The form is provided by MailerLite, and their script runs on that page so that you get a proper confirmation instead of a line of raw code. That means your IP address reaches MailerLite when the page loads, before you type anything. It happens on the newsletter page only; every other page on this site loads nothing from anywhere.
If you sign up, you give your email address. It goes to a mailing tool that handles the list and the sending, and it happens with double opt-in: you first get a confirmation email, and only if you click it are you on the list. Without that click we keep nothing.
The address is used only to announce a new game mode or to send a discount code. It is not sold, not traded and not used for anything else. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately and without questions.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority. In practice this only concerns your email address, because that is the only thing we hold — the app sends us nothing. Unsubscribing deletes the address.
Questions or a request? Use the address on the contact page.
Changes
If what the app or the site does changes, this page changes with it and gets a new date. Nothing here is ever changed retroactively.
